Devlog #1: Origin


Day 1 of the project with our newly-formed team! Today, we had a quick meeting to settle on the theme of the game, and we're off! 

Here's our basic design idea for our roguelike game:

- We will have a player who can move around, and combat will be magic based 

- There will be some orbs spinning around the player character, and the player can use mouse button to shoot them at enemies

- The orbs will regenerate after a certain amount of time after being shot

 - There could be different color orbs which have different effects eg. AOE, high piercing damage, etc which would introduce the idea of timing in combat

 - For strategy, we can have a certain amount of upgrade slots, and the player can get upgrades in certain ways for the orbs, eg +1 orb, + damage, orbs do contact dmg, etc

- The player will have to manage which upgrades to put in the slots to synergise them and enhance their playstyle

- The setting will be a classic dungeon vibe, havent elaborated too much on this, its not as important as the selling point of the game is our core gameplay loop -non turn-based, will be real time action

So far, I've made a player character that can move around and some orbs that oscillate around the player. Next up is adding a basic enemy and health bar to test the core loop.
